Hometown Septic Solutions is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We build the site to be accessible rather than bolting an accessibility widget onto it, and we keep improving it.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Parts of the site may not yet fully meet that standard. Where we find shortfalls, we work to fix them.

What We Do

  • Semantic HTML with a single page heading, ordered headings, and landmark regions.
  • A "Skip to content" link, visible keyboard focus outlines, and a logical tab order.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alt text for decorative ones.
  • Form fields with real labels, and errors announced in text rather than by color alone.
  • A color palette checked for contrast, including the navy and red we use for links and buttons.
  • Respect for the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system.
  • A system font stack, so the site makes no third-party font requests and text renders even offline.

Assessment and Known Limitations

We assess this site ourselves, against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, using automated checks and keyboard and screen reader testing. It has not been reviewed by an independent accessibility auditor, so we describe it as an ongoing commitment rather than a certification.

The payment calculator on our financing pages is supplied by Hearth, a third party. We do not control its markup, so we cannot guarantee it meets the same standard as the rest of the site. A plain text link to apply with Hearth directly sits beside it, and we are glad to walk you through payment options over the phone instead.
